Have you ever tried to convince a loved one to not do something that was harmful for them, but they continued to do it anyway?

Jesus spoke of this from one of the Isaiah’s prophecies:

Because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: ‘You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.”

Matthew 13:13b-14, ESV

Have you ever become so frustrated with this situation that it brought you to tears?

During His triumphal entry to Jerusalem, Jesus had one of these moments.

41 And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43 For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side 44 and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

Luke 19:41-44, ESV

Have you known the time of your visitation?

Do you too, hear but not understand and see but not perceive?

Jesus is weeping for you too.
