John 13:1: Jesus knew His time had come to return to the Father
John 13:12-15: Jesus asks the disciples, "Do you understand what I have done for you?".  He explains that they rightly call Him "Teacher" and "Lord," and therefore, as their Lord and Teacher, He has washed their feet, so they too should wash one another's feet.  He tells them, "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you". 
John 13:20: Jesus states, "Very truly I tell you, whoever receives one whom I send receives me; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me".
